The Department of Physics is one of the vibrant Departments of School of Sciences, Cluster University of Srinagar. The Department of Physics, is devoted to promoting excellence in teaching, learning, research, and scientific innovation. The Department provides an exciting academic environment that encourages students to develop a strong conceptual foundation in Physics while developing analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a spirit of scientific inquiry. The Department offers Four Year Undergraduate Program (FYUGP) and 1-Year & 2-Year Postgraduate Programs in Physics, with a curriculum designed to provide a balanced exposure to theoretical concepts, computational techniques, and experimental methodologies. The academic programmes are enriched in accordance with the vision of NEP-2020, with emphasis on multidisciplinary learning, skill development, research orientation, and experiential education. The Department has a growing research culture, with faculty members actively engaged in diverse areas of contemporary physics, including Experimental Nuclear Physics, Condensed Matter Physics, Nanotechnology, Particle Physics, and related interdisciplinary areas. A key strength of the Department is its importance on hands-on laboratory training and research-based learning. Students are encouraged to participate in projects, seminars, scientific discussions, and other academic activities that enable them to connect classroom knowledge with real-world scientific challenges.
