University Council

Powers of the University Council

  • To institute Professorships, Associate Professorships, Assistant Professorships and other teaching posts.
  • To abolish or suspend any teaching posts on the recommendations of the Academic Council.
  • To manage and regulate finances, investments, property and administrative affairs.
  • To withdraw any degree, diploma or certificate under the provisions of the Act.

Pursuant to the provisions of subsection (1) of Section 19 of the Srinagar and Jammu Cluster Universities Act, 2016, the University Council of Cluster University of Jammu is hereby reconstituted for the triennial period 2021–24.

About CU Srinagar

The Cluster University of Srinagar (CUS) has been created by pooling the resources of five existing colleges of Amar Singh College, Sri Pratap College, Govt. College for Women, M. A. Road, Govt. Degree College, Bemina and Govt. College of Education. These five constituent colleges of the Cluster University have adequate academic, physical and technical infrastructural facilities and more..

The Concept

The Cluster University Of Srinagar concept, first of its kind in India introduced by the Jammu and Kashmir Government in the year 2016. It is expected to give an impetus to academics and research in the state. more
