Welcome to the Department of Economics, Cluster University of Srinagar. The Department is committed to imparting quality education in economics, developing analytical and critical thinking, and promoting research and innovation. The Department offers postgraduate programmes in Economics, including M.A. Economics (1-year/2-year duration) and Ph.D. in Economics, in accordance with modern educational norms and the National Education Policy (NEP). These programmes provide a strong foundation in economic theory, quantitative methods, applied economics, research, and policy analysis, with a balanced emphasis on theoretical knowledge and practical application. The Department comprises qualified and experienced faculty members who are actively engaged in teaching, research, and academic activities. It provides a supportive academic environment that encourages students to develop research aptitude, analytical skills, and a deeper understanding of contemporary economic and social issues. The programmes prepare students for careers in higher education, research institutions, government and public policy, banking and financial services, civil services, and other competitive and professional fields.
