The Department of Zoology, Cluster University of Srinagar, is committed to excellence in teaching, research and scientific advancement. The Department offers academic programmes at the undergraduate level with options for Research/Honours, postgraduate and Ph.D. levels, in accordance with NEP 2020. The Department is supported by well-equipped laboratories, smart classrooms, modern teaching and learning resources, a seminar library, state-of-the-art museum with collections representing major faunal groups, and other academic facilities that foster effective learning, practical training, and scholarly research. The faculty comprises experienced academicians and active researchers with national and international exposure and collaborations with reputed institutions, contributing through high-quality publications, academic engagements, and knowledge dissemination. The Department regularly organizes seminars, workshops, conferences, field-based training programmes, and scientific interactions. The major teaching and research areas include Genetics, Molecular Biology, Fisheries Science, Parasitology, Wildlife Biology, Entomology, Biodiversity Conservation and other interdisciplinary areas of biological sciences.
